Sunshine On My Tomatoes Makes Me Happy

"If I had a day that I could give you,
I'd give to you a day just like today"
"If I had a wish that I could wish for you,
I'd make a wish for sunshine all the while"

  1. Ugh, our tommies didn't want to grow this year! So spoilt don't you think? It looks so sunny over there, wonderful!

    1. Hiya Esther. Our tomatoes struggled too! You have some nice tomato photos on your blog, I see. :-) The sun was gone yesterday but it will be back, I hope.

    1. I think our remaining blooms are just a freeze away, and then the snow I hope. :-) Have a good day Shari.

    1. Oh my goodness, and I thought a stone massage was unusual. Well it certainly looks relaxing and any spa treatment gets my vote. Perhaps the Fish Spa will make it's way here soon and I will try it out. :-)

    1. I'm learning about all kinds of things today - "green tomato jam" is how your post translated and I have Googled it - a sweet tomato jam on a mozzarella grilled sandwich is also what I found and it looks so yummy. Thanks for the mind opening idea, Domy.

  5. Someone told me recently that tomatoes ripen better in the dark ... but it's much more fun to put them on a windowsill, don't you think?

I was just editing some tomato photos myself - nothing near so pretty as yours. (Let's just say that my photos involve some rather hideous blue tarps; the theme song for the post is "Never Can Say Goodbye".... will probably post tomorrow.)

The sunshine looks so lovely on your 'maters and crochet work. Gorgeous mums and geranium too! :)

    1. Too funny, but I bet the blue tarp looks good as a back drop. I am looking forward to your 'maters post.

Yes, I did hear that about the dark, specifically in a paper bag due to the gases or something...that's the NVO's area. :-) Oh no, that did not sound very flattering...I meant because he is a scientist, hehe. All the photos I took inside the paper bags did not turn out ;-).

Have a good day, Sue and thanks for the comment.

  6. Yes we will miss the sun so very much... It has already started to rain here... Watch probably the last soccer game for my son without rain today... It has sure been a pleasant fall here in Oregon so far :)

    1. It rained all yesterday afternoon and it would be reminiscent of Oregon. Ahhhhh...Oregon with it's rainy days and coast, so lovely. You are lucky to live there. It's slated as a future trip for us. Relatives live in Yreka and we would like to visit for a road trip soon...maybe in the spring. GOOD DAY TO YOU!

  8. Gorgeous photos - love the vivid colours and the last rays of the summer sunshine. Here in Scotland we are well into Autumn and being on the wet west coast it's raining, again. Elizabeth

  9. It was so hot here in Michigan this summer that my tomato plants didn't take off until way later in the summer. Today I picked the last of the green tomatoes and I am going to put them in a dark spot and let them ripen. Yours look pretty on the windowsill. Wish I had enough window sills for some of mine.

    1. Hi Carla,

We had the same issues with the tomatoes and the weather here in Utah. It's time to put these in a dark place, as well. :-)

Thank you for the comment. Fun to have a visitor from Michigan. :-)
