Day 1 of CANDO 2014: Plan Ahead

I CAN plan ahead with pre-made packets of food.
This week I CAN eat unlimited lean protein, non-starchy vegetables and drink lots of decaf coffee.
In addition, two citrus fruits per day, coconut oil as my fat source and 64 oz of water.
Before 6:30 PM each day I CAN eat anytime I want and as much as I want of these items.
It CAN be easy!
It CAN be made easier if I plan ahead,
and this is one of my planning ahead tricks:
Handy frozen chicken packets provide a quick appetite suppressing meal/snack.
I like grilling them with the different Mrs. Dash herb blends for variety.
(More food ideas forthcoming.)

As previously posted I will also be:

(click on links for more information about each item.)

Okay so here's the difficult part to share:
This mornings CANDO 2014 starting weigh is 145.4.

I CAN ignore what I thought or hoped it would be by now.
I CAN focus in on the fact that I lost 5.4 pounds during the
two months that included the "food" holidays. ;-)
I CAN weigh each day this week and then every subsequent Monday and post it.
Tomorrow will be the first entry into the group tracker.
Participants, please email me the difference between your weight today and tomorrow
and I CAN add it to our tracking chart. :-)
This chart CAN be found on the CANDO 2014 page and CAN be updated daily
for a week and then weekly after that.

It's not too late to participate, see this post if you are interested.

Here's my personal weight goal vs actual weight chart:
Goals:
I CAN weigh 120 lbs by May 1st (our wedding anniversary).
 I am 5' 4" with a small build.
I CAN lose 5 lbs the first week and 1.5 lbs each week after that.
I CAN allow for no weight loss during Valentine's Day week.
I CAN share this Excel spreadsheet; send me an email and I will be happy to email it to you.
 (digger.lizzie@gmail.com)
You CAN customize it to your own goals.

Good luck and may the CANDO force be with you!

  1. Astri you are inspirational with your ability to keep going with your plan. You deserve every ounce of success. I like the idea of the prepackaged food parcels - makes it much easier to control quantities. Keep focussed on the success you've already achieved and more will most surely follow. Love your new scarf pattern by the way - goes beautifully with your new boots! E x

  4. You are probably building muscle mass from all that exercise ... and if your weather has been as cold as ours your metabolism may have slowed down a bit to compensate. Keep on keeping on - I know you CAN DO it! :)

P.S. Have you tried throwing some speedwalking intervals into your walks? It makes an amazing difference to the workout.

P.P.S. I can't even walk a half mile right now because it's TWENTY BELOW! And wind chills are something crazy like -40. :O

  5. Good for you! The chicken packets are a great idea. I keep a lot of hard boiled eggs in the fridge when I get cravings.
Just finished reading Death by Food Pyramid on my Kindle. It was just released this month. What an eye opener regarding nutrition. Good luck!

  6. You have such a positive attitude, which is half the battle. Keep up the good work.

I went on tilt today - a donut, a candy bar and a piece of pineapple upside-down cake with whip cream. I can't believe I did that!!
