Cherry Blossom Afghan Crochet Pattern

I am addicted to crocheting blossoms, I tell ya'!
I simply cannot stop!

One of the results of this obsession is this
Cherry Blossom Afghan
🌸🌸🌸
made with
Scheepjes Stone and River Washed yarn.
I LOVE this yarn!

I must have at least a dozen blossom project in the works, but finally,
I sat down and produced a pattern for this one.
(Gosh it's hard to pull myself away from the hook, yarn, and crocheted blossom mania,
 and onto the computer!)
The Cherry Blossom Afghan Pattern is similar to the Apple Blossom Dream Afghan Pattern,
so if you have purchased that pattern, then please forward the proof of purchase via email and
I will happily send this one to you for free:
astri.bowlin@gmail.com

Otherwise, the pattern can be found in my Etsy shop by clicking here.

This is how the listing reads:

Let this pattern guide you in making this lovely cherry blossom afghan
Its vibrant color-saturated and soft design is also ideal for many applications.
The finished size is approximately 36" x 48" (120 cm x 90 cm) which is perfect for napping or displaying.
Cozy on up for cooler days/evenings or wrap baby snuggly for a stroll.
Oh and think of the color possibilities!
This instantly downloadable 20-page pattern includes plenty of step-by-step photos, as well as, links to the Apple Blossom Dream Afghan (videos in different yarn and colors; however, the same stitches) for extra added assistance. Pages 19 and 20 of the pattern includes a condensed crochet "short-hand" version of the pattern.
The pattern is written and verbalized in US crochet terms.
Ideal for an intermediate crocheter. General knowledge of crocheting a granny square is helpful.

The MC is Black Onyx,
but if you would like a lighter look, one option would be to change the MC to Moonstone:

Four New Yarn Colors

Adding colors to an already splendid array of colors makes me so happy!

These are the new Stylecraft Special DK yarn colors:
Cornish Blue
Spearmint
Powder Pink
Toy
Aren't the colors pretty?

With the introduction of new colors, I make crocheted roses
and add them to a poster that hangs on my studio door.

For the original Granny Rose crochet pattern ( a crochet-in-the-round rose),
please see my Etsy shop by clicking here.
It includes an instructional video too!

Just imagine the color possibilities and application possibilities.
Oh, how I love blossoms!

Blush Blossom Blanket in Muted Colors-WIP

I just simply can't stop crocheting with the springtime colors!

I have been obsessing over and chomping at the bit to try out the new Stylecraft Special DK yarn colors.

So a "Blush Blossom Blanket in Muted Colors"
was just the ticket to cover both obsessions.

At this juncture, I have included two of the new yarn colors:
Toy and Powder Pink
(Watch out Spearmint and Cornish Blue...I have future plans for you too!)
And for once I don't have the urge to saturate with white; however,
cream may sneak its way into this project.
This blanket is based on the Blush Blossom Baby Blanket Pattern,
found in my Etsy Shop by clicking here.
The only changes are the yarn the colors.
Everything else will remain the same.

The blossoms are crocheted from my Stylecraft Special DK and Scheepjes Colour Crafter yarn stash.
I picked colors not too bright or dark.
Additionally, I chose flower colors that might be found in nature.
I like the granny square as a diamond and I really like that there are only 24 of these blossom squares (diamonds) to crochet.
(Please note the pattern includes a plethora of step-by-step photos, as well as, video links for additional assistance.)

The rest of the blanket is comprised of basic granny squares and half granny squares (triangles).

The MC's (Main Colors) are:
Toy
Cloud Blue
Powder Pink
Duck Egg

The leaves are:
Pistachio

At this point, the border may include Cream, Spearmint, and Cornish Blue....we'll see...
I am making every effort to limit the yarn to no more than one skein of each color.

Stay tuned for the continuing colorways,

and as always wishing you lots of colorful and

Warmly,

Astri

Farmhouse Rose Afghan Revisited

Since our return from Scandinavia in June there has been a lot of "settling in" happening at the
 "Koselig Hekler Hus"
🏠🏠🏠🏠🏠
And that includes the rearranging of crocheted items, of course. 😉

So the Farmhouse Rose Afghan was moved from the porch to the master bedroom.
🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
Additionally, various red, white, and blue items were gathered from other areas of the home
to create a color-coordinated crochet inspired space
and
a trip to IKEA for blue and white bed linens really
pulled the look together.
"Fresh and Flowery"
is what I was going for.
The crochet pattern can be found on Etsy by clicking here.
The pattern includes 20 pages of step-by-step instructions,
with dozens of photos.

Sometimes, still, the afghan ends up on the back porch,
where it coordinates with the
"Farmhouse Rose Barn Quilt"
The barn quilt design was inspired by the afghan:
and
a barn quilt has been installed on the front and back of our home.
It welcomes crocheters to the
"Koselig Hekler Hus"

and I welcome you to lots of
Warmly,

Astri
