Apple Blossom Dreams | Apple Blossom Season | Post 1

Apple Blossom Season - Post 1:

Since apple blossom season is starting in so many parts of the world,
it spurred on an idea to create a string of apple blossom posts.
πŸŽπŸŒΈπŸƒ ~ πŸƒπŸŒΈπŸŽ

Oh gosh, can you imagine,
as I look around our home and root around in my belongings,
all that is apple blossom-related?
It's possible that the posts can go on until well after the petals fall.
Let's start with the "namesake" afghan pictured.
This is the "Apple Blossom Dream Afghan" in the original "Apple Blossom Dreams" colors.
The large blanket was given away but this is a test/sample that I made for my crochet chair.
It sits with a wool blanket from Norway that I had as a child and a little lamb dressed
in the apple blossom dreams colors.
I've been intending to crochet the lamb clothes...

The pattern is listed at the following shops:
(Clicking on these will take you directly to the pattern.)

Please note both patterns include both versions.

This pattern was super fun to write, however challenging.
It was important to me that the apple blossom was accurate with
five petals which meant a pentagon shape.
When pentagon shapes are joined they eventually make a ball,
so I had to come up with a way to join these pentagons in order for them to lay flat.
The elongated diamond shape eventually worked,
but included a lot of counting and many tries. LOL

Wishing you
and many successful tries!

Warmly,

Astri
