Cheesecake

The Best Part of a Low-Processed Carb Food Plan:
Cheesecake

Nothing works better for our family to lose a little extra weight than a low-processed carb eating  plan...and...the best part of this plan is the cheesecake!
The NVO likes his with blackberries macerated with Pinot Grigio.

Macerated is a new word for me; I learned it from a granita recipe I made last weekend.
I like saying it and keep looking for opportunities to use it, but so far have not found any opportunities except writing it in this blog. :-)

Little Bug (#6) and I like it plain.
Little Bug is back until she graduates from college next spring.
WOW, the youngest is graduating from college, when did I get this old?
No more empty nest; however, it's so fun to have her here.

This weight loss round is with the help of the George Stella Family's heartwarming
and inspiring weight loss story and books purchased from Amazon.
I have named this the "8 Hour Cheesecake". It's very simple to make;
there's just a lot of baking and refrigerating time....8 hours of it.
It's really called the "New York Ricotta Cheesecake"
and you can find the recipe on the Stella Style website here.

This eating plan is not so bad after all.

  1. This looks so delicious. I have never tasted a cheesecake. I would love to bake one. May be sometime I will get an opportunity to bake one after I have mastered baking ordinary cakes.

  2. Just as I was thinking "Wow! She knows what macerating is!" you had to go and blow your image. I learned that term from Rose Levy Berenbaum's Pie and Pastry Bible. :)

It's an interesting word, very hard indeed to work into conversation. "So, been macerating anything lately?"

  3. Oh yes, Pradeepa if you can try your hand at one I think you would be very pleased. Might be easier than an ordinary cake - it just takes a long time to bake and it's in a water bath to keep it moist.

Mrs M, you crack me up. Hey I know the words vernacular and esoteric? Does that make up for it? I would like to try your line in converastion but I'm afraid I might get fired or arrested. ;-)

How about this one: "Shortly after she fell asleep in the bathtub her skin became macerated." I don't know...might not really flow.
