Garden Markers

Inspired by my blogging friend, Priscilla
(lots of good stuff on her blog!)

This is how they are made:
Hearts and picket fences (sawed in half) from Hobby Lobby.
Skewers from kitchen drawer.
Pussycat font in white placed in a table in
Microsoft Word and then the table background was filled in with red.
Mod Podge in "Matte" for first coat.

Mod Podge in "Outdoor" for second coat  including back and side edges.
Skewers glued on with wood glue.
(Mod Podge with "Outdoor" here,  as well.)
Yahoo!
My "OCD Bad Self" had to line them up in alphabetical order for a photo op!
The order pleases me so.

The plants are happy now that they know who they are:

Even the container herbs know who they are:
Pots were accidentally left outside last winter, but I kind of like the broken rustic look to them now.
And here are a couple of random perennials that are in bloom right now:
 Honeysuckle,
and Snow in Summer.

They come back every year and have been around for so long that
that they know who they are; hence, no need for name tags. ;- )

We also had a surprise visit from "L" today, who belongs to "K", with these Castor Bean plants:
"L" tells us that if we take really good care of these and they get plenty of sun,
water and fertilizer that they will grow to be taller than us by season's end.
That would be really cool!
I will report back each week on these along with the Bachelor's Buttons.

Now, it's back to making markers for the ones I missed...like parsley and rosemary and the tomatoes and peppers that will be planted this weekend.

Wishing you a beautiful day in or out of the garden!

  7. So good. They really are what I need, I rely on memory which always fails me when little seedlings all pop up looking the same! Jo x
