🌸Blooming Progress | Floral Cushion Cover 🌿

My little crochet flower is really beginning to bloom! ✨🌼

After starting with the central flower in Lemon Yellow, Olive Green, and soft pink petals, I’ve now added more rounds and the piece is coming to life with even more colour and texture. The combination of Yarnsmiths Cotton DK in Fondant Pink, Candyfloss Pink, Olive Green, Denim Blue, and Lemon Yellow feels like a fresh spring garden 🌸💙🌿

The sweet bobble-like petals popping out in pink against the Denim Blue background are giving this motif such depth and joy. I’ve also finished the edge with a delicate pink scallop, which already has that cushion-cover feel.

I love watching this design expand and I hope Astri is happy and thinks I am doing the original design justice! It feels both classic and new at the same time.

Next step: adding more rounds and building towards a full cushion cover. I can already imagine how cheerful this will look when it’s finished — a true handmade burst of spring for the home 🌸🌼✨

🌼 A New Project: Floral Cushion Cover with Yarnsmiths Cotton DK 🌼

There’s nothing more exciting than starting a new crochet adventure, especially when it involves working with such gorgeous colours and a beautiful design ✨.

This time, I’m taking inspiration from Astri’s lovely pattern and reimagining it into a cushion cover. I love that this project allows me to bring together both my creativity and Astri’s artistry and really bring this to life! It feels like a true collaboration, even across the stitches. 💕

For this piece, I’ve chosen Yarnsmiths Cotton DK in the following shades:

🌸 Candyfloss Pink

💚 Olive Green

💙 Denim Blue

💛 Lemon Yellow

The combination is cheerful, soft, and just perfect for a floral motif. My first sample has already come to life — a sweet flower blooming against a Denim Blue circle, ready to grow into something even more special.
