Granny Rose Pom-Pom Pillows | Crochet Pattern | 25% OFF

Last week the idea of offering a 25% off coupon for the
Original Granny Rose Crochet Pattern
was so fun that it got me thinking that I could possibly try to offer a different discounted pattern
every week from now through the end of the year.
(Wow, that's tough for a commitmentphobe!)
Keep in mind that the keyword here is "try." 😉

Well, at least I'm super committed this week and here's this week's pattern:

🌸 Granny Rose Pom-Pom Pillows 🌸

Two similar pillows with different pom-pom trim.

I like the way they look on the rocking chair handed down from the NVO's grandmother...

and I like the way they look on the ottoman...

 or on the stairs...

ooooo...gingham is good too...

but mostly I like them with the black and white IKEA pillows:

This is what the back of the pillows look like:
A couple of big granny squares!

The pattern is listed at the following shops:
(Clicking on these will take you directly to the pattern.)

Use the following coupon code at Etsy to receive 25% off:

BPPP25
The code and discount are good thru Sunday, August, 2nd, 2020.

Clicking on this photo will take you to the Etsy listing, as well.
😀

I'm still reeling in happy colors and
and I hope you are too!

Crochet for Billy Goat or Billy the Kid | Introduction

After many years of hoping and trying, our son and his beautiful wife
are having their first child in December 2020.
It's a boy and his name is Billy.

Our DIL has an affinity for goats that
started during our Traditional Norwegian Romjul
(the time of celebration between Christmas and New Years Day)
in which goats play a big part...
the *Julbok (Yule Goat) ) if you will.
She loved this tradition so much she even got a goat tattoo???
Oh well, "kids" these days!

From now until then I thought it would be fun to crochet something silly and fun.
A toy for Billy with a Billy Goat theme...

so this adorable goat was acquired for this project:
Isn't he cute?

So now it's time to start crocheting for this little guy!

So far, I've made this little blanket for Billy:
It was a test from the
Macaroon Blossom Blanket:
What to make next?
Any ideas?

Oh and here are a few members of the Motley Crew one Romjul:

Thanks for stopping by and checking out the lasted crochet antics!

Wishing you
Happy Times
and

Warmly,

Astri

*From Wikipedia: "The Yule goat is a Scandinavian and Northern European Yule and Christmas symbol and tradition. Its origin may be Germanic pagan and has existed in many variants during Scandinavian history. Modern representations of the Yule goat are typically made of straw."

I love that!

Macaroon Blossom Afghan | Crochet Pattern | Border Progress

The border/edging/frame for the
"Macaroon Blossom Afghan"
has been designed and implemented:
I wanted something that looked like flower buds and leaves.

The goal was to make sure that as much of the leftover yarn as possible was used.
In order to accomplish this the leftover yarn was divided into two piles:
1) leaf colors and 2) bud colors
then each color was used for its respective purpose until it ran out and then the next color.
No counting out buds and leaves or weighing, measuring, and calculating the yarn amounts.
 Easy, fun, and practical!

Now, back to the writing, photographing, and videotaping of the pattern, to publish next month!

As always, wishing you lots of

Macaroon Blossom Afghan | Crochet Pattern | Progress

All the "macaroons" are finished for the
Macaroon Blossom Afghan:
The joining has finally begun:
It took many tries and lots of playing to finally come up with something
that looked like leaves to join the circles.

Next...a border...

Then, the writing and photography for a pattern release this summer!

I've been engaged with some

and I hope you have been as well!

Astri
