Granny Square Napkin Envelope

Ya' know, in a previous post I mentioned how I did not know if it was appropriate
to gift a crocheter with a crocheted gift or not.

Well, I'm here to tell you that as far as this crocheter (me) goes it is not only appropriate,
but very well received and appreciated.
💓💓💓
Look at what the lovely Sandra in Switzerland of the
Oh my, you can only imagine my joy and delight in receiving this gift from afar!

Sandra has carefully coordinated the colors with my home and style,
and she made this incredible photo collage, as well:
She's a talented crocheter and photographer.

Thank you so much Sandra!

Crocheted Baubles

Getting back to crocheting after a long hiatus is so much fun!
Crocheting is one of my happy places, for sure.

Which leads to these happy creations:
Crocheted Baubles in Red, White, and Blue!
I love those colors together...
Representing the three flags of the countries I love;
The USA, the UK, and Norway!

The pattern for the baubles came from this book:

Boho Crochet: 30 Hip and Happy Projects
by Martingale

The pattern was adjusted according to the size of the ball via hook size,
yarn weight and the number of rows.
The yarn is Scheepjes cotton: Catona or Cahlista
that can be purchased via Wool Warehouse by clicking here for Catona and here for Cahlista.

I hope this season finds you crocheting, as well!

Warmly,

Astri

Variation on Puffy NOLA Sunset pattern

On my, oh my!
Please take a look at this incredible afghan Claudia made from the
Puffy NOLA Sunset Afghan Pattern.
And her cute cat. :-)
She used Red Heart Neon Stripes for the wavy rows and
various other bright colors for the bobble rows.

I just love this variation!

The pattern can be found by clicking here.

Happy Crocheting!

Granny Rose for Granny Baby

It never ceases to amaze and warm me when
a fellow crocheter creates a work of art
and shares it with me to share with you.
This afghan was created by a patron of my Granny Rose pattern for
a granddaughter whose arrival is any day now.
Something very special for a lucky little one to cherish for years to come.

And come to find out, whilst I thought I was communicating with someone
overseas, this wonderful lady resides within the same valley where I live.
Additionally, her spouse worked with the NVO until 2014!

It's almost as if we were connected with an invisible strand of yarn.
I wonder if there times we were crocheting roses at the same time.
I like to think so.

Thank you "S" for sharing this delightful gift,

and

Welcome Little One!

Autumn Granny Rose Pillow I

My friend "D" has a birthday next month.
Once she told me how to figure out the colors she loved,
she said "Think Fall".

This is the beginning of a pillow for her birthday:
This "Spring" colors gal has been thinking of these "Autumn" colors:

Stylecraft yarn in Saffron, Gold, and Copper.
With an "F" hook 3.75 mm.

The pillow will be 3 x 3 for a square.
(three of each color)
It will fit perfect over the little IKEA pillow I like so much.
I'll crochet something funky and different for the back.

Fall is coming...
...and so are more roses inspired by the Autumn colors:
An IKEA pillow will be the inside.

Yarn is:
Stylecraft Special DK in:
Saffron, Copper, Gold
Khaki, Meadow
Parchment, Mocha
Yarn can be found at Wool Warehouse by clicking here.

Hook is:
"F" or 3.75 mm

Pattern is:
Granny Rose is the pattern for the front and can be found
here                     or                     here.

Happy forthcoming colors of the Season!

Autumnal Equinox Dishcloths

A gift for a friend who said she just can't get enough of these:
To coordinate with her kitchen colors.
We love the way way these can hang from the faucet to dry.
 Pattern found here.
100% Cotton Yarn by Sugar 'n Cream.
The bottom two striped ones are in a dc. It was an experiment that did not turn out so well. :-)

Happy Fall Equinox!!!
