🌸 3D Granny Rose Cushion | Weekly Celebration! ✨

I’m so happy to bring a little spotlight back to one of the most playful and textured designs in the Apple Blossom Dreams collection! The 3D Granny Rose Cushion 🌷

This cushion is all about dimension and detail. The raised rose motifs really pop from the surface, creating a piece that feels just as lovely to touch as it is to look at. It’s one of those projects that keeps things interesting, with each rose adding depth and character as you go.

Despite the beautiful texture, it’s a surprisingly relaxing project to work on. The rhythm of the stitches is soothing, and watching those roses bloom round by round is incredibly satisfying 🧶✨

The 3D Granny Rose Cushion works beautifully in so many colour combinations. bold and bright, soft and muted, or anything in between. It’s a wonderful way to play with colour and create something that feels truly personal.

For this version, the cushion was made using the beautiful Yarnsmiths Cotton DK, which gives fantastic stitch definition and really allows the floral details to shine. The colours used are fresh, joyful and work so well together:

🌹 3D Granny Rose Cushion | Now as a Blanket Too!✨

🌹✨ 3D Granny Rose Cushion – Now as a Blanket Too!✨🌹

Did you know the 3D Granny Rose Cushion pattern can be easily adapted into a square lap blanket or even a toddler blanket? 💕🧸

That’s right! This versatile pattern isn’t just for cushions! With a few simple tweaks, you can transform your beautiful 3D roses into something snuggly, soft, and perfect for gifting (or keeping for yourself… we won’t tell 😉).

🎨 Colour Play & Layout

In this version, two of the granny squares were made exactly as written in the original cushion pattern, using the same colours and order for that gorgeous floral pop 🌹. These two squares were placed on opposite corners of the blanket for a lovely sense of balance.

The other two squares? Pure creative fun! They were made using leftover yarns from the original cushion, plus a few similarly coloured extras thrown in for good measure. Gotta love a good stash-busting moment! 😄🧶

🌿 Joining & Border Details

The squares were joined together in green using the JAYGO (Join As You Go) method 🌿One of my favourites for seamless joins and neat results. After joining, a row of granny stitches in the same green 💚 was worked all the way around to frame the piece beautifully.

Then came the border, simple but oh-so-effective:

🔹 Row 1 (Light Blue): Single crochet (sc) in each stitch, with [sc, ch2, sc] in each corner.

🔹 Row 2 (Medium Pink): Linen/Moss stitch pattern (ch1, skip one stitch, sc), with [sc, ch2, sc] in each corner.

🔹 Row 3 (White or Cream): Continue the linen/moss stitch (ch1, skip a stitch, sc). Please note - your single crochets go into the ch-1 spaces from the previous row, with 3sc worked in each corner.

The finished look is soft, textured, and perfectly balanced, ideal for any room that needs a touch of crochet charm 🌼

🧶 Materials & Yarn Notes

This blanket was made mostly using Yarnsmiths Cotton DK 🌸 (such a lovely smooth yarn with beautiful stitch definition!) with a few sneaky 100% cotton stash yarns mixed in for fun.

Of course, you can use any yarn you like! That’s the joy of crochet! Total creative freedom. 💕 #NoYarnLeftBehind 😂

Blush Blossom Blanket in Muted Colors-WIP

I just simply can't stop crocheting with the springtime colors!

I have been obsessing over and chomping at the bit to try out the new Stylecraft Special DK yarn colors.

So a "Blush Blossom Blanket in Muted Colors"

 was just the ticket to cover both obsessions.

At this juncture, I have included two of the new yarn colors:

Toy and Powder Pink

(Watch out Spearmint and Cornish Blue...I have future plans for you too!)

And for once I don't have the urge to saturate with white; however, 

cream may sneak its way into this project.

This blanket is based on the Blush Blossom Baby Blanket Pattern,

found in my Etsy Shop by clicking here.

The only changes are the yarn the colors. 

Everything else remains the same.

The blossoms are crocheted can be crocheted with Yarnsmiths Create DK, Stylecraft Special DK, or Scheepjes Colour Crafter yarn stash.

I picked colors not too bright or dark.

Additionally, I chose flower colors that might be found in nature. 

I like the granny square as a diamond, and I really like that there are only 24 of these blossom squares (diamonds) to crochet.

as well as, video links for additional assistance.)

The rest of the blanket is comprised of basic granny squares and half granny squares (triangles).

At this point, the border may include Cream, Spearmint, and Cornish Blue....we'll see...

Farmhouse Rose Afghan Revisited

Since our return from Scandinavia in June there has been a lot of "settling in" happening at the

 "Koselig Hekler Hus"

🏠🏠🏠🏠🏠

And that includes the rearranging of crocheted items, of course. 😉

So the Farmhouse Rose Afghan was moved from the porch to the master bedroom.

🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹

Additionally, various red, white, and blue items were gathered from other areas of the home

to create a color-coordinated crochet inspired space

and

a trip to IKEA for blue and white bed linens really

pulled the look together.

"Fresh and Flowery" 

is what I was going for.

Blush Blossom Crocheted Baby Blanket

I'm hoping this year will be filled with a lot of crochet and a lot of love!

Periwinkle Pillow

Periwinkle is my favorite color!

So I made this springtime pillow in celebration of that color:

It's a total of 16 (8 each side) 3D Granny Square Motifs

included in the 3D Granny Rose pattern found here.

  I added a double ruffled border/edge for

an extra kick!

Border pattern is a variation of 

 "The La Vie En Rose" border pattern, found here, 

but it's done on both sides.

The first border was crocheted after the two pieces were crocheted together,

the the second border was crocheted to the bottom of the first border.

It has a two button enclosure:
