This week’s crochet celebration is one of my festive favourites!

The Poinsettia Crochet Pattern! πŸŽ„❤️

It’s never too early for us makers to start getting ready for the holidays, right? These little flowers are the perfect way to sprinkle some handmade cheer around your home, and they work up beautifully in any yarn, but I used Scheepjes Catona yarn. 🌸

You can make them into bunting, ornaments, gift toppers, or simply scatter them about for that cosy Christmas touch. I’ve even seen them turned into earrings and attached to napkin rings! The possibilities are endless!

The pattern is detailed but easy to follow, with step-by-step photos and video links for extra help if you need it. Once you make one, you’ll want to make a whole bunch! They’re that addictive!

You can find the pattern on Etsy HERE

🧢 These were crocheted in Scheepjes Catona, which comes in so many gorgeous shades! Perfect for mixing and matching those festive reds, whites, and greens.

Happy early holiday making! πŸŽ…✨

🌹 3D Granny Rose Cushion | Now as a Blanket Too!✨

🌹✨ 3D Granny Rose Cushion – Now as a Blanket Too!✨🌹

Did you know the 3D Granny Rose Cushion pattern can be easily adapted into a square lap blanket or even a toddler blanket? πŸ’•πŸ§Έ

That’s right! This versatile pattern isn’t just for cushions! With a few simple tweaks, you can transform your beautiful 3D roses into something snuggly, soft, and perfect for gifting (or keeping for yourself… we won’t tell πŸ˜‰).

🎨 Colour Play & Layout

In this version, two of the granny squares were made exactly as written in the original cushion pattern, using the same colours and order for that gorgeous floral pop 🌹. These two squares were placed on opposite corners of the blanket for a lovely sense of balance.

The other two squares? Pure creative fun! They were made using leftover yarns from the original cushion, plus a few similarly coloured extras thrown in for good measure. Gotta love a good stash-busting moment! πŸ˜„πŸ§Ά

🌿 Joining & Border Details

The squares were joined together in green using the JAYGO (Join As You Go) method 🌿One of my favourites for seamless joins and neat results. After joining, a row of granny stitches in the same green πŸ’š was worked all the way around to frame the piece beautifully.

Then came the border, simple but oh-so-effective:

πŸ”Ή Row 1 (Light Blue): Single crochet (sc) in each stitch, with [sc, ch2, sc] in each corner.
πŸ”Ή Row 2 (Medium Pink): Linen/Moss stitch pattern (ch1, skip one stitch, sc), with [sc, ch2, sc] in each corner.
πŸ”Ή Row 3 (White or Cream): Continue the linen/moss stitch (ch1, skip a stitch, sc). Please note - your single crochets go into the ch-1 spaces from the previous row, with 3sc worked in each corner.

The finished look is soft, textured, and perfectly balanced, ideal for any room that needs a touch of crochet charm 🌼

🧢 Materials & Yarn Notes

This blanket was made mostly using Yarnsmiths Cotton DK 🌸 (such a lovely smooth yarn with beautiful stitch definition!) with a few sneaky 100% cotton stash yarns mixed in for fun.

Of course, you can use any yarn you like! That’s the joy of crochet! Total creative freedom. πŸ’• #NoYarnLeftBehind πŸ˜‚

πŸ’« Ready to Try It Yourself?

If you’d like to make your own, grab the 3D Granny Rose Cushion pattern from the shops linked below:

Whether you go for a cushion cover, a blanket, or both! The result will be beautifully floral and totally unique. πŸŒΉπŸ’–

πŸŽ„Week 13 of 46 | This Week's Featured Pattern is the Rampenisse / Gnome Hat!✨

The Rampenisse / Gnome Hat πŸŽ„πŸ§Ά✨

This week’s pattern is one that always makes me smile! The Rampenisse (Gnome) Hat! πŸŽ… It’s playful, festive, and practical all at once, the kind of project that’s just as fun to make as it is to wear.

I love how versatile this pattern is. You can stick with the classic red-and-white for a traditional Scandi Christmas vibe, or mix it up with unexpected colour combos for something completely unique. 🌈 Imagine a whole family of hats lined up by the fire, each one different, each one made with love. That’s the kind of cosy memory crochet is all about. πŸ’•

The pattern includes four different sizes, so you can make one for everyone – little ones, grown-ups, and everyone in between. There are even notes on how to adjust if you’d like to go bigger. It works up quickly too, making it a brilliant project for gifting (or whipping up last minute when the cold weather hits). ❄️

The Rampenisse / Gnome Hat pattern - you can find it HERE.

I can’t wait to see how you bring this festive favourite to life! Please tag me on Instagram so I can cheer you on. Whether you go classic, bold, or even sparkly, I know it’ll be magical. ✨

Happy cosy crocheting!
