๐ŸงฃFrom Scarf to Blanket | Chevron Stitch Magic!๐Ÿ›️

๐Ÿ’• From Scarf to Blanket – Chevron Stitch Magic! ๐Ÿ’•

One of my favourite things about crochet is seeing how one simple pattern can transform into something completely new, and this project is a perfect example of that! ๐ŸŒธ

My lovely friend Astri took the Chevron Infinity Scarf pattern and turned it into the most beautiful blanket! ๐Ÿงฃ➡️๐Ÿ›️

๐Ÿงถ The Yarn

For her blanket, Astri used the Puffflower Mega Yarn Cake in the colourway “Mum’s Welsh Cake”, and just look at those dreamy tones! Check out the Mega Yarn Cakes HERE ๐Ÿ’•๐ŸŒท

This yarn fades softly through shades of pink, peach, and cream, giving the blanket a romantic ombrรฉ effect that’s perfect for showing off the chevron stitch. It’s a premium acrylic yarn, hand-tied for a smooth transition between colours and it works up beautifully!

I actually sent this yarn cake all the way from the UK ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ’Œ, and I couldn’t be happier with how stunning Astri’s blanket turned out. The gentle gradient reminds me of roses, strawberry ice cream, and a warm summer sunset ๐Ÿ“๐ŸŒธ✨

๐Ÿงต The Pattern

Astri followed my Chevron Infinity Scarf pattern (which you can find for free on the blog ๐Ÿ’•). Instead of chaining 49 for the scarf, she simply began with a longer foundation chain of 225 to make a blanket-sized version. Then she finished it off with these cute little pom poms from yarn she had left over from another project that matched perfectly!

The chevron stitch creates a lovely, wavy texture that highlights the yarn’s colour changes beautifully. It’s one of those easy, rhythmic patterns that’s so relaxing to crochet and looks far more complex than it actually is! ๐ŸŒผ

If you’d like to make your own, the pattern is completely free and includes step-by-step photos to guide you through each row, perfect whether you’re a confident beginner or a seasoned crocheter.

๐ŸŒธ Endless Possibilities

What I love most about this pattern is how versatile it is!
You can use it to make:

  • A cosy infinity scarf for chilly days ❄️

  • A soft throw or blanket (like Astri’s beautiful version!) ๐Ÿ›️

  • Or even baby blankets in delicate pastel yarns ๐Ÿ‘ถ

It’s one of those timeless patterns you’ll come back to again and again! And it looks gorgeous in every colourway!
