My Norway - Day 15 - Norsk Decorated Camper/Trailer

Happy Campers with Happy Colors!!!
(The last "My Norway" entry for now...)

We sold our "pop-up tent trailer" last weekend. Why you ask? Well...because...I am afraid of bears. Yes, there you have it, it is true!

The only problem is....we love camping, but I have a solution and a plan: next year we purchase a bear proof camper/trailer and redecorate it in a cozy Norsk style. So a-cyber-surfing I went and check-out what I found for inspiration at the Madison Avenue Baby Blog.

These are a few of my happy, happy colors. And of course they are linked from a Norwegian website. All my cyber-roads always seem to end up in the same place. Hey, what happens to those dishes when one hits a fartsdump? (Fartsdump is Norwegian for speed bump, hehe :-) )

I also love, love, love the colors that Meme Rose uses...the NVO may very well put his foot down on that one though. :-( Oh well, I will find somewhere else to use her happy colors. The wheels are a churnin'.

Camper Trailers: A Reason to Crochet

There will be lots and lots of color coordinated crocheted stuff to make...and I have a whole year to crochet a way! I am so excited I can hardly stand it.

Once the camper/trailer is road worthy and those dishes are secured, I dream of traveling the entire USA for a year. (After spending 6 months in Norway, of course) Ahhhhhhhh....wouldn't it be bliss? Shoot, retirement is 9 years away for the NVO and 12 years away for me. :-( I suppose we may just have to embark on some close-to-home camping trips and a few weeks at a time in Norway in the interim, but that's not so bad, eh?

My Norway - Day 12 - Hager (Gardens)

During a visit to Norway Mor, #6 and I drove by this lovely garden. Mor unrolled the window and said to this woman "My goodness, God surely has blessed you with a lovely garden" and the woman promptly replied, "You should have seen it before I moved in; He was surely struggling with it." I LOVE the Norwegian's sense of humor.

My Norway - Day 10 - Mat (Food)

My food photo collection from Norway is quite scarce,
but the next trip should fix that; I will be on a food photo mission!

The food and the timing of the meals are truly very different from the United States
and "different" is good.

I'm dreaming of Prim, Snøfrisk, Gjetost...
Oh, how I miss so many of these...
(none of these are pictured below, but other typical Norwegian foods are.)

My Norway - Day 9 - Grass Roofs

Seriously, I will really get back to crocheting and the domestic arts soon...by June. :-)

We love these grass roofs so much that the NVO even made a grass roof on the stabbur entrance into the house from the garage. :-)

My Norway - Day 8 - Hans og Fisk

This is my Bonus Dad, Hans.
He likes to fish.  :-)

Han's is always waiting for us to arrive.
He really makes us feel like he looks forward to our visits.

All that waiting wears po' Han's out. :-)

I love you, Hans!
