Shortbread Cookie Monster

More Cookies!!!
At it again with a couple more shortbread variations...

Lemon Poppyseed
and
Chocolate Dipped Orange
(with real orange zest)

but this time for a cause...
The NVO was out of town visiting a couple of the kiddos for Father's Day and he arrived home to a belated Father's Day treat of his favorite home baked cookies:
Shortbread, Snickerdoodles and Berlinerkranser.
Recipes found here, here, and here, respectively.
Welcome Home, NVO!!!
We missed you!

Klem, D

    1. Mange Takk, Drude! A trip to the cabin sounds so nice, especially with children and grandchildren visiting. Hopefully you will eat cookies there. Have a wonderful time!

  3. Yum, Yum, Yum! I love shortbread so much. Orange and chocolate is always a delicious combination. We can't even get poppyseed here and I do love a good lemon poppyseed muffin. :/ Have a great day. Tammy

    1. It's been a while since I purchased and used poppyseeds and they are so good with lemon. That is too bad you cannot get them, but there are so many other yummy things that you do make. :-)

  6. I loved that even your Father's Day sign is in your signature colors!!! And I just noticed your red checked valances...I love them! I've been thinking about getting checked valances in red from Country Curtains (I have two checked sets now in beige and cranberry). I like to have my beige set up in summer - nice and light but a red set for fall and winter would be so cute. Cookies look so delicious!

    1. Always love to coordinate the colors. Thanks for noticing. :-)

Those valances came from Better Homes and Gardens collections at Walmart of all places. I dig them. The blue is really pretty too.

    1. Lemon is a close second to chocolate in my book! Thank you for the sweet comment, Carole.

  8. Butter ... must have butter ...

(Heading to the kitchen where there are some almost-freshly-baked chocolate chip cookies. Not shortbread, but will satisfy the butter craving.)

They all look absolutely delicious. I love chocolate and orange - when I make truffles I always do some with orange peel.
