The Man Cave

Whew Hew! Whew Hew! Whew Hew!
Most every woman's dream has come true for me:
I have received permission to redecorate the man cave...
and I can not express, in words, how excited I am!
So please insert visions of the "Happy Dance" here.

This whimsical swatch of the fabric will be the inspiration piece for this room.
I am quite confident my yarn stash contains all these colors, and you know what that means...

I'm picturing lots of white and light blue and as every room in the house must include red,
red will be included, as well.
Perhaps a few black accents, but mostly white.
I'm thinking: light-bright-airy with splashes of vibrant color.

BEFORE:
This poor room is a bit drab and dark, dark, dark:
Family tree is kind of cool but will be replaced with a new and improved family tree.
(not the family...just the tree, hehe.)
and the armoire is full of...
 junk, junk, junk...
(and it's white washed for heavens sake... I remember the 90's...)

Scrapbooking and office supplies, supplies, supplies.
(I know, not your typical man cave stuff but he's very nice to share space with me.)
Although the armoire hardware is not so bad.

Here he has shared more space with me...
mess, mess, mess!
Was this really ever a man cave?
This is where the man's stuff, stuff, stuff resides.
Po', Po', Po' NVO.

SO...
armed with three gallons of paint, 4 yds of whimsical fabric and a little extra mad money for an IKEA run....
...ya' better watch out, little room, 'cuz
here I come, come, come'!!!

(Stay tuned for the "AFTER" post.)

  2. Yes, yes, yes ....
Is not possible for me to do the same.
We share the same workroom with my husband and I despair of one day having a row place. My other half is terribly messy!
have a good and happy Easter.
    Bye, bye for now ;-)

    1. Haha, I think as women we just simply need more stuff...especially if we are crafters. ;-)

  3. Based on your fabric choice I can tell that room is gonna be bright and beautiful and absolutely gorgeous once you get done with it. What a makeover that is gonna be! Have fun! Best wishes, Tammy

  5. What fabulous fabric! Can't wait to see what happens here.

Completely agree about the armoire hardware - and wasn't going to say anything about the whitewash but you said it first! Ah well. Fashions change.

I can see that armoire painted red, with rosemaled doors....

  6. Funny, we head to rosemaling camp in a few weeks and the NVO has suggested a rosemaled armoire...but as of this last weekend it is white! I'm trying not Norsk out this room but sometimes I just can't help it!

I'm still laughing over the whitewash comment; it's like stone or acid washed jeans.
